Allison + Justin - Trillium Resort

Well hello there! Happy New Year! Do we still say HNY this far into the month…? Anyway, it has definitely been a minute since I updated my website, and even longer since I have written a blog post. It is always on my to do list but never gets crossed off for some reason… Having a creative mind is a blessing and a curse let me tell ya… it takes me down 50 different paths at once, and sometimes I end up only getting halfway down them LOL!

I have been thinking about blogging this wedding since the day I photographed it last year in September but guess what? TODAY’S THE DAY! I posted some images to my socials, but alas Insta only allows us the dreaded 10 page spread and it just isn’t enough! There are far too many beautiful moments to leave this wedding un-blogged!

Allison + Justin are such a sweet couple. You ever meet those people you just can’t say enough good things about? They are those people.

I met Allison a few years back when I photographed her sisters wedding, and honestly their whole family are those kinda humans that you just can’t help but love instantly. When Ally reached out and said they were getting married I was immediately excited and day dreaming about how stunning her big day would be.

The whole day took place at Trillium Resort and Spa in Muskoka - a venue I had never worked at before, but am I ever glad I finally got the opportunity to! They had several cottages rented out for family and friends and we started the day off getting ready in the cozy quarters Trillium offers. The couple had their first look on the dock overlooking the beautiful Devine Lake. After, we wandered around the grounds finding all the gorgeous nooks and crannies the property has while taking photos along the way.

We lucked out and had perfect weather, which is especially beneficial because their sweet ceremony was set to be outdoors, just up from the lake surrounded by the beauty of Muskoka. It was full of laughter, love, and of course some happy tears!

A + J’s reception took place in the main hall that provided floor to ceiling windows to enjoy the sunset as we dined. Dinner was absolutely delicious and was paired with some of the funniest speeches I have heard! The couple and I snuck out to capture some blue hour shots - which are becoming a new fav of mine BTW - and returned to enjoy a large assortment of treats for dessert!

The newlyweds first dance was so romantic (probably because they are the cutest human beings ), and was followed by a couple adorable parent dances that always seem to make my eyes do this funny thing where its hard to see out my viewfinder.. I’m a big baby at weddings…I can’t help it… I have accepted it.

Ally + Justin’s day was even more perfect than I thought it was going to be, and it was truly an honour and a privilege to be a part of it. To say I adore these people is an understatement!
